Description

On 27.06.98 a serious earthquake occurred in the south-east part of Turkey, measuring 6.3 on the Richter scale, it caused widespread destruction in the provincial capital of Adana and the nearby town of Ceyhan, especially to numerous apartment blocks in both towns.
By 10.09.98 the World Bank had agreed to provide the Government of Turkey with a loan to the amount of € 339 million for the “Turkey Emergency Flood and Earthquake Recovery” (TEFER) project.

Within the scope of this TEFER project DORSCH CONSULT – as lead firm in joint venture with a local partner - was retained to provide consultants´ services for the supervision of the construction of 2,300 apartment units in the town of Adana (construction contract packages AD4, AD5, AD6 and AD7) – out of the total of 4,000 units being constructed - including the infrastructure measures within the contract areas.
