Description

On 17th of August 1999 a serious earthquake in the Marmara Region of Turkey caused loss of life and extensive damages.

In response to this Marmara Earthquake, the Government of Turkey with assistance from the European Investment Bank has identified a reconstruction programme, which includes reconstruction of housing units in the Adapazari, Düzce and Gölcük area.

Within the scope of the TERRA-1 project DORSCH CONSULT – as lead firm in joint venture with a local partner – was retained to provide consultants ́ services for the supervision of the construction of

  • 1000 housing units in Adapazari
  • 500 housing units in Düzce and
  • 1250 housing units in Gölcük.

In addition to the reconstruction of housing units and on-site infrastructure, social facilities such as primary schools, health posts, commercial centres and off-site infrastructure will be provided.

The total works, were divided into 5 construction packages and are awarded to Turkish and International Contractors.

The work started on 2nd of April 2002.

Than is followed by a 12 months defects liability period.
